Softball Game Preview: Millbrook Pioneers vs. James Wood Colonels

Millbrook is 0-10 against James Wood since April of 2019 but things could change on Monday. The Pioneers will be playing at home against the Colonels at 6:30 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Millbrook 4, James Wood 2.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Millbrook's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They put the hurt on Meridian with a sharp 8-0 win. Considering the Pioneers have won six games by more than seven runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, James Wood didn't have quite enough to beat Liberty on Thursday and fell 4-3. That's two games in a row now that the Colonels have lost by just one run.

Millbrook has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for James Wood, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-6.
