Recap: Thornwell Saints vs. Dixie Hornets
This season hasn't been kind to the Thornwell Saints, who are still winless after their fourth contest. They were dealt a 36-5 defeat at the hands of Dixie on Tuesday.
Leading Dixie to victory were Kerri O'Shields and Jaylia Turner. O'Shields scored nine points along with five steals, while Turner scored 11 points along with seven steals. O'Shields has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Georgia Wojtkowski, who scored six points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Thornwell's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Dixie, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 5-8 record this season.
Thornwell won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Whitmire at 6:00 p.m. on January 17th. As for Dixie, they will head out on the road to face off against McCormick at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. McCormick is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home.
