Martin hasn't had much luck against Roma recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Tigers will take on the Gladiators at 7:00 p.m. Martin is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.7 runs per game this season.
For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last six times Martin and Nixon have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Friday. The Tigers blew past the Mustangs 7-0. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Alan Ornelas made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over seven innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in February.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Aldo Alarcon, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Frankie Cantu, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.
Martin hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in eight consecutive games.
Meanwhile, after soaring to ten runs the game before, Roma was a bit more limited in their contest on Friday. They fell 5-1 to Mission. The Gladiators' loss signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.
Roma saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Luis Diaz, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Martin pushed their record up to 13-5-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Roma, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-8-1.
Everything went Martin's way against Roma when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Martin made off with a 7-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
