Softball Preview: Weaver Bearcats vs. Ragland Purple Devils        
        
		
            
 The Weaver Bearcats will be playing at home against the Ragland Purple Devils at 5:00  p.m.  on Thursday. The timing is sure in Weaver's favor as the  squad sits on six straight wins at home while Ragland has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
 Last Tuesday, Weaver sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  an  8-6  win over Glencoe.
  Kynlee Fulmer was a major factor no matter where she played. She  tossed three innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit. Fulmer has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in three consecutive pitching appearances. Fulmer was also solid in the batter's box,  going 2-for-2 with a  double and  an  RBI.
 In other pitching news,  Reyleigh Partner looked comfortable as she  pitched four innings while giving up just one earned  (and five unearned) runs off   five  hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in six consecutive pitching appearances.
 Back at the plate,  Sydney Bitzer was  incredible,  going 2-for-3 with a  home run and four  runs. Another player making a difference was  Ali Anderson, who  went 1-for-1 with a  triple, a  run,  and  an  RBI.
 Meanwhile, Ragland fell victim to a  rough 12-2 defeat at the hands of Oxford  on Monday.
 Ragland saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Jesslyn Carlise, who  scored a  run while going 1-for-2.
 Weaver has  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won nine of their last ten matchups,  which provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record  this season. As for Ragland, they now  have a losing record at 10-11.
 Thursday's   match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Weaver has hit smart this season,  having  averaged  an OBP of .435. However, it's not like Ragland struggles in that department as   they've  averaged .456. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
