Preview: Leechburg Blue Devils vs. McGuffey Highlanders
The Leechburg Blue Devils will be home for the holidays to greet the McGuffey Highlanders at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Leechburg is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home.
Last Tuesday, Leechburg was the victim of a tough 55-29 defeat at the hands of Jeannette. While losing is never fun, Leechburg can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 632nd, while Jeannette is ranked 255th).
Despite the loss, Leechburg got a solid performance out of Jayden Floyd, who scored 22 points along with six rebounds and four steals. Floyd scored a full 75.9% of Leechburg's points, the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Meanwhile, McGuffey unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a hard 50-36 fall against Mt. Pleasant. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points McGuffey has scored all season.
Leechburg's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for McGuffey, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-1.
