Basketball Recap: Norwood Snags 15th Victory in Last 16 Games

Norwood extended their postseason success on Tuesday against Iberia. They managed a 45-39 win over the Iberia Rangers. 45 seems to be a good number for the Pirates as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.

Norwood got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Addy Gray out in front who shot 67% from beyond the arc en route to 19 points. That's the most points Gray has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Gentry Davault, who had four points along with nine assists and seven rebounds.

Norwood was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. They are 22-2 when they've passed the ball that well.

Jaylyn Piggott and Alexa Rowden certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Piggott scored 12 points and six boards, while Rowden put up 12 points and eight rebounds. Piggott is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as she's posted one of at least 50% in the last four games she's played.

Norwood is on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 16 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.3 points over those games. With the defeat, Iberia broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 20-8.

Looking ahead, Norwood will face off against Marionville at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Marionville comes in on three and Norwood on ten. Iberia does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
