Baseball Recap: Indio Takes a Loss

Indio's last matchup with San Jacinto could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's match on Saturday. The Indio Rajahs lost 11-3 to the San Jacinto Tigers. If the Rajahs were looking for revenge after losing 7-5 to the Tigers when the teams met back in February of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Luciano Zaragoza was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Salvador Guerrero, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Indio's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for San Jacinto, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-2.

Looking ahead, Indio will face off against Shadow Hills at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Indio has given up an average of 7.9 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for San Jacinto, they will take on Coachella Valley at 2:45 p.m. on Tuesday. San Jacinto is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.
