Basketball Game Preview: Davis Sr. Blue Devils vs. Woodcreek Timberwolves

The Davis Sr. Blue Devils will be taking part in a tournament against the Woodcreek Timberwolves at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

On Tuesday, Davis Sr. needed a bit of extra time to put away Atwater. They snuck past the Falcons with a 77-72 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Blue Devils.

Davis Sr. found their leader in sophomore Lorelei Nachman, who went 14-for-27 on her way to 41 points and six steals. Nachman is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least four every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Sonia Clayton, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 12 boards.

Davis Sr. smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 24 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in six consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Woodcreek). They breezed past McNair to the tune of 84-38 on Wednesday. Fans of the Timberwolves have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Davis Sr. now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Woodcreek, their win bumped their record up to 4-0.

Davis Sr. didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Woodcreek in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, but they still walked away with a 45-39 victory. Will the Blue Devils repeat their success, or do the Timberwolves have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
