Softball Recap: Marshfield Comes Up Short

Marshfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 14-2 to the Hudson Raiders. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Tigers have suffered since April 21, 2025.

Marshfield saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Avery Kelnhofer, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

Marshfield's loss dropped their record down to 13-8. As for Hudson, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 12-5.

Marshfield and Hudson should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Wisconsin Rankings. The Tigers (ranked 37th) will meet Wausau West (ranked 162nd) at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Hudson will face off against Eau Claire Memorial at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (61 vs. 266).
