Basketball Recap: Riverview Gardens Comes Up Short

Riverview Gardens was the 47-46 winner over Columbia when they last played one another back in January of 2015, but their luck changed this time around. The Riverview Gardens Rams had to suffer through a 78-36 loss at the hands of the Columbia Eagles. While losing is never fun, the Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 255th in Missouri, while the Eagles are ranked 50th in Illinois).

Sam Donald was his usual excellent self, putting up 29 points for Columbia. Another player making a difference was Micah James, who posted 17 points.

This is the second loss in a row for Riverview Gardens and nudges their season record down to 3-4. As for Columbia, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-2.

Riverview Gardens will head out to square off against Central at 5:30 p.m. on January 4, 2025. As for Columbia, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Seckman at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday.
