Baseball Recap: Richland County Comes Up Short

Teutopolis hit Richland County with a five-run fourth inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Tigers came up short against the Wooden Shoes, falling 13-2. The defeat continues a trend for the Tigers in their meetings with the Wooden Shoes: they've now lost nine in a row.

Richland County saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Owen Cycholl, who went 1-for-2 with one home run.

Richland County's loss dropped their record down to 9-14-1. As for Teutopolis, they pushed their record up to 24-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home.

As for Teutopolis, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Williamsville at 10:00 a.m. The Wooden Shoes are facing the Bullets at the right time seeing as the Bullets are stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
