Softball Recap: Fort Knox Eagles vs. Metcalfe County Hornets
Fort Knox had lost four straight at home, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 3-20 to make it five. They lost 10-1 to the Metcalfe County Hornets. The Eagles were not able to make up for their loss to the Hornets from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.
As for Metcalfe County, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 6-11 record. Their offense finally found a way to get into gear: the high-octane performance was a 180-degree turn from their last three games.
For Metcalfe County's part, Harper Hurt made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave Hurt a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, earning one RBI, one run, and one stolen base.
