After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Castro Valley, Berkeley was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Alameda Hornets. This was a revenge game for the Yellowjackets: when they faced off against the Hornets back in March, they had to take a 3-1 loss.

Berkeley had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 25-20, 25-21, 25-20.

Satchel Room paced Berkeley's offense, picking up 16 kills. Room got some help from Sebastian Chen-McDermott and his 31 assists. Chen-McDermott was also solid from the service line: he led the team with five aces.

Berkeley moved to 6-11 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Alameda, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-11.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Berkeley will face off against rival Piedmont at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Alameda is set to take on their familiar foe Castro Valley at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
