Baseball Recap: Fairfield Prep Comes Up Short

The home team had come away the winner the last six times Fairfield Prep and Guilford had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Jesuits came up short against the Grizzlies on Monday, falling 15-5. The Jesuits have struggled against the Grizzlies recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Ryan Ventrelle was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one triple and one run. Vinny Lombardo was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

Fairfield Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 12-8. As for Guilford, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fairfield Prep will head out to take on Sheehan at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Guilford, they will face off against Hillhouse at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
