Basketball Recap: Van Horn's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Two

Van Horn won the last time they faced Excelsior Springs, and Barlin Gloto did her part to make sure it happened again. The Van Horn Falcons walked away with a 48-38 victory over the Excelsior Springs Tigers on Thursday thanks in part to Gloto, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 23 boards. The contest was her ninth in a row with at least ten points.

Another player making a difference was Samya Bailey, who posted six points in addition to five boards and three steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played.

The win made it two in a row for Van Horn and bumps their season record up to 7-2. As for Excelsior Springs, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Van Horn will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Oak Grove at 6:15 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Excelsior Springs also won't see the court for a while: their next game is against Grandview at 7:00 p.m. on January 6, 2025.
