Basketball Recap: Morgan Township Skates Past Tri-Township with Ease

Morgan Township was handed a heart-breaking two-point defeat in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Tri-Township on Friday. The Morgan Township Cherokees breezed by the Tri-Township Tigers to the tune of 64-35. The Cherokees have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Tigers, too.

Aidan Johnson was a one-man wrecking crew for Morgan Township as he went 6 of 15 on his way to 16 points in addition to seven steals and five assists. The dominant performance gave Johnson a new career-high in assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Walters, who posted ten points and five steals.

Morgan Township smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Tri-Township only pulled down four offensive boards.

Dillon Stewart and Ethan Dailey certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Stewart dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 boards, while Dailey scored eight points. That was a full 48.6% of Tri-Township's points, marking the 11th time in a row he's put up more than a third of the team's points.

Morgan Township's record is now 3-9. As for Tri-Township, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season.

Morgan Township has already played their next game, a 50-43 victory against Glenn on the 18th. As for Tri-Township, they will take on Westville at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Westville's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four contests.
