Basketball Game Preview: Goose Creek Gators vs. Stratford Knights

Goose Creek and Stratford are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2020, but not for long. The Goose Creek Gators will square off against the Stratford Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Goose Creek is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Wando just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Monday. They fell 48-40 to the Warriors.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 75-44, which was the final score in Stratford's tilt against Berkeley on Monday. The defeat continues a trend for the Knights in their matchups with the Stags: they've now lost three in a row.

Stratford's loss dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Goose Creek, their defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 8-7.

Goose Creek beat Stratford 45-35 when the teams last played back in February of 2024. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Stratford's Ciara Mustapher, who posted 18 points. Now that she's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Goose Creek still be able to contain Mustapher? There's only one way to find out.
