Basketball Recap: Libertyville Snags 15th Victory in Last 16 Games

Mundelein typically has all the answers at home, but on Friday Libertyville proved too difficult a challenge. They came out on top against the Mundelein Mustangs by a score of 51-44. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 26th, while the Mustangs are ranked 161st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Libertyville is also on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 16 games, which provided a nice bump to their 20-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.1 points per game. As for Mundelein, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-11.

Libertyville is taking a road trip to take on Glenbrook South at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Libertyville will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for Mundelein, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Warren Township at 7:00 p.m.
