Basketball Recap: Calvary Baptist Academy Patriots vs. West Logan Christian Academy Warriors
The Calvary Baptist Academy Patriots's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight defeat. They fell to West Logan Christian Academy 44-40. Calvary Baptist Academy lost against the Warriors in their previous head to head back in January, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 65-35 score last time.
Several Patriots players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Dallas Johnson, who scored 22 points along with two steals. Matthew DeGroff was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with ten rebounds and six assists.
Calvary Baptist Academy has not been sharp recently as the team's lost seven of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-13 record this season. As for West Logan Christian Academy, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Calvary Baptist Academy will square off against the at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Grace Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Tuesday. As for West Logan Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to square off against the Renegades at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
