Softball Game Preview: Linden Tigers vs. Carteret Ramblers

The Linden Tigers will face off against the Carteret Ramblers at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Linden hasn't scored more than two runs for three games straight, a trend the squad is eager to reverse.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Linden's offense. They came up short against Kent Place on Thursday, falling 15-0.

Meanwhile, Carteret came up short against Wardlaw Hartridge on Thursday and fell 6-3. The loss continues a trend for the Ramblers in their meetings with the Rams: they've now lost three in a row.

Jayanalis Pagan spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and one unearned) runs on five hits.

On the hitting side, Carteret saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Daniela Portillo, who went 2-for-3 with one run. Jesse Sendatch also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Linden's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5-1. As for Carteret, their loss dropped their record down to 6-11.
