Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Cape Fear). Everything went their way against the Purnell Swett Rams on Friday as the Cape Fear Colts made off with a 68-42 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Colts have posted since November 19, 2024.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cape Fear to victory, but perhaps none more so than Tyler Eavenson, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds. Those ten points gave Eavenson a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Joshua Green, who went 6 of 11 en route to 22 points.

Cape Fear was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Despite the loss, Purnell Swett still got an impressive performance from Collin Sampson, who posted 15 points. Sampson's evening made it eight games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of James Swett, who put up six points.

Cape Fear's victory bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Purnell Swett, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cape Fear will take on Seventy-First at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Seventy-First will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Cape Fear surely won't give up without a fight. As for Purnell Swett, they will square off against Jack Britt at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Purnell Swett is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.8 points per game this season.
