Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Niles North). They skirted past the Vernon Hills Cougars 7-6. The Vikings haven't had any issues with the Cougars recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Jacob Titsworth tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over 6.1 innings pitched. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Niles North is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 4-6-1 otherwise.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Thomas Opio, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Evan Lazik was another key player, going 1-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double.

Niles North's victory bumped their record up to 6-7-1. As for Vernon Hills, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season.
