Volleyball Preview: Shullsburg Miners vs. Marshall Cardinals        
        
		
             The Shullsburg Miners will face off against the Marshall Cardinals at 10:00  a.m.  on Saturday. Both come into the  game bolstered by wins in their previous  matches.
 Shullsburg took a loss when they played away from home  last Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed  on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Benton with a sharp  3-0 win. The  victory was a breath of fresh air for the Miners as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.
 The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-7,  25-19.
 Shullsburg's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Olivia Brown, who  had 17  digs. Brown is  on a roll when it comes to  digs, as she's  now  had 11 or more in the last 11 games she's  played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of  Evvie Ennis, who  had seven  digs and ten  assists.
 Shullsburg  was lethal from the service line and  finished the game with 11  aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  served at least ten  aces in three consecutive  contests.
 Meanwhile, Marshall earned  a  3-1 victory over Belleville  on Tuesday. The  win made it back-to-back  victories for the Cardinals.
 Marshall walked away with the   win (but they looked especially good in the third set). The final score came out to 25-18, 26-28, 25-9,  25-20.
 Shullsburg's record is now 6-8. As for Marshall, their record is now 13-6.
 Shullsburg came up short against Marshall in their previous meeting  back in August of 2023, falling  2-0. Can Shullsburg avenge their  defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
