Basketball Recap: Block Island Takes a Loss

Block Island was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were outmatched by the Mt. Pleasant Kilties and fell 50-21. If Block Island was looking for revenge after losing 52-22 to them when the teams met back in January of 2021, then they'll just have to keep looking.

ELIZABETH EVANS and ABIGAIL WILLI certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. EVANS posted seven points in addition to eight boards and three blocks, while WILLI had two points along with nine rebounds and three blocks. WILLI has been hot recently, having posted eight or more boards the last four times she's played.

Block Island's defeat dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Mt. Pleasant, their win bumped their record up to 6-16.

Block Island does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mt. Pleasant, they will square off against Central Falls on Tuesday. Central Falls will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Mt. Pleasant surely won't give up without a fight.
