Recap: Brunswick Railroaders vs. Williamsport Wildcats
The Brunswick Railroaders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. The matchup between Brunswick and Williamsport wasn't particularly close, with Brunswick falling 34-18. After a 65-45 finish the last time they played, Brunswick and Williamsport decided to play a little more cautiously this time around.
Brunswick's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Andie Welsh, who scored two points along with 11 rebounds and five blocks. Welsh is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabby Stefanic, who scored five points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Brunswick's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Williamsport, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Boonsboro the next time they take the court. Brunswick will head out to face Boonsboro at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Williamsport will host them at 7:00 p.m. on January 3, 2024.
