Baseball Recap: De Kalb Wins Going Away Against New Boston

After low-scoring totals in their previous three contests, De Kalb brought some dynamite into their most recent match. They put the hurt on the New Boston Lions with a sharp 16-1 victory on Monday. The Bears have beaten the Lions the last six times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Lions has come to flipping the script.

Cortlen White made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. He has become a key player for De Kalb: the team is 4-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 7-8 otherwise. White was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Dom Dunn was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 4-for-4. That's the most runs he has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Jaylen White, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4.

De Kalb's win bumped their record up to 11-9. As for New Boston, they are on a 12-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-16.
