Baseball Recap: Miami Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Miami had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Northeast Hurricanes as they made off with an 11-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Stingarees, who have now won four matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Jann Soto was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with three RBI.

In other pitching news, Alex Semet looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Wryan Jenkins, who scored three runs and stole four bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. He also put up a double, which washis first of the season. Another player making a difference was Angel Veliz, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
