Softball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Dinwiddie

Dinwiddie waltzed into their matchup on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They never let the Hopewell Blue Devils get on the board and left with a 16-0 victory. The Generals might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by seven runs or more this season.

Addison Everett made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Kailie Bookman and Charleigh Davis did most of the damage at the plate: Bookman got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs and two RBI, while Davis went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI and one run. Another player making a difference was Nala Bain, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs.

Dinwiddie's win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Hopewell, they dropped their record down to 1-6 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Dinwiddie will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Blue Devils: the pair will be back at it again later today.
