Softball Recap: Eastbrook Wins Going Away Against Blackford

Eastbrook barely beat Blackford the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Panthers put the hurt on the Bruins with a sharp 12-1 win on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won nine matches by eight runs or more so far this season.

Eastbrook let Delanie Elliott and Olivia Legg run wild. Elliott went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run, while Legg went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs and two RBI. That triple was Elliott's first of the season. Gracie Elliott was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI.

Eastbrook hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in seven consecutive games.

Eastbrook pushed their record up to 9-4 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.3 runs over those games. As for Blackford, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Eastbrook will take on rival Mississinewa at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Blackford is set to square off against their familiar foe Alexandria-Monroe at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
