Basketball Recap: Homestead Extends Winning Streak to Three

Homestead waltzed into their matchup on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They took down the Carroll Chargers 51-37. Given the Spartans' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 31st, while the Chargers are ranked 152nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Carroll's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Paxton Crane, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and ten boards. Brody Fisher was another key player, putting up ten points and five rebounds.

Homestead pushed their record up to 18-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.5 points over those games. As for Carroll, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-14.

Looking ahead, Homestead will face off against Norwell at 7:30 p.m. on February 28th. As for Carroll, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 60-53 win against North Central on the 22nd.
