Basketball Recap: Nixon-Smiley Triumphs

Nixon-Smiley's game last Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Goliad Tigers, sneaking past 45-43. The Mustangs have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Tigers, too.

Nixon-Smiley moved to 8-13 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Goliad, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-13.

Nixon-Smiley will take on Stockdale at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Nixon-Smiley is facing Stockdale at the right time seeing as Stockdale is stuck on a seven-game losing streak. Goliad has already played their next contest (against Poth), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
