Recap: Tallmadge Blue Devils vs. Copley Indians
Even though The Copley Indians scored an imposing 41 points on Friday, the Tallmadge Blue Devils still came out on top. Tallmadge pulled ahead with a 42-41 photo finish over Copley. That's two games straight that Tallmadge has won by exactly a single point.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Tallmadge to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ryan Loveless, who threw for 143 yards and three touchdowns. Tallmadge also got help from Caleb Reifsnyder who showed off his sure hands for 86 receiving yards.
Another reason for the win was Tallmadge's imposing defensive line, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. Leading the way was Noah Robinson and his three sacks.
Copley's loss came despite strong showings from Gabe Mansel and Tony Cox. Mansel threw for 277 yards and four touchdowns, while Cox rushed for 134 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.4 yards per carry. Andrew Mcknight was another key contributor, picking up 65 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Tallmadge's win was their third straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 5-5. Admittedly, the team didn't face the toughest opposition across those games, namely Copley, Cuyahoga Falls, and Revere. As for Copley, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.
Tallmadge does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Copley also has no future games currently scheduled.
