Softball Recap: Heritage Hawks vs. Central Fellowship Christian Academy Lancers        
        
		
             It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Heritage had no problem doing just that  on Thursday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Central Fellowship Christian Academy Lancers  an   8-0 shutout. The Hawks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 matchups by eight  runs or more this season.
  Amelia Thornton made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she  didn't allow a single  earned run and  only one  hit while striking out ten over five innings pitched. With that strong performance,  she is now averaging an impressive 5.2  strikeouts per game. She was also big at the plate,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while going 3-for-3. She is  on a roll when it comes to  stolen bases, as she's  now  stolen  at least one in the last three games she's  played dating back to last season.
 In other batting news,  Baylie Arrington was  excellent,  scoring two  runs while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was  Avery Medford, who  scored a  run and  stole two bases.
 Heritage was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .417. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a  batting average of .375 or higher in seven consecutive  matches.
 Heritage's victory bumped their record up to 13-2. As for Central Fellowship Christian Academy,  this is the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 11-10.
 Heritage is on the road again  on Friday to play Brentwood at 10:00  a.m. Heritage's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5  runs per game  this season, so Brentwood's hitters will have their work cut out for them. Central Fellowship Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
