Baseball Recap: Chief Sealth Wins Going Away Against Rainier Beach

While Chief Sealth put up plenty of runs on Monday, the same can't be said for Rainier Beach. The Seahawks blew past the Vikings 12-0. The Seahawks haven't had any issues with the Vikings recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Nevin Pivar and Brady Murphy were major factors no matter where they played. Throwing, Pivar pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Murphy tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Pivar has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in 11 consecutive appearances. At bat, Pivar went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, while Murphy went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, three RBI, and one double. Those three hits gave Murphy a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Nolan Vanbuskirk, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run. Another player making a difference was Graham Hull, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

Chief Sealth always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rainier Beach only posted an OBP of .333.

Chief Sealth's record now sits at 11-7. As for Rainier Beach, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-10.
