Softball Recap: El Primero Comes Up Short

After flying high against Luis Valdez Leadership Academy on Friday, El Primero came back down to earth. The Lobos lost 30-3 to the Cupertino Pioneers on Monday.

Alondra Corona Sandoval made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

El Primero has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.6 runs over those games. As for Cupertino, their victory bumped their record up to 10-8.

El Primero wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 22-18 win against Summit Shasta on the 7th. As for Cupertino, they have also already played their next match, a 12-2 victory against Palo Alto on the 7th.
