Softball Recap: Williams Beats El Capitan for Their Third Straight Victory

Williams had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 9-1 margin over the El Capitan Eagles. Considering the Vikings have won three contests by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Danika Howe made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 17 over seven innings pitched. Furthermore, she didn't allow a single earned run, the first time she has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. She also hit a triple, marking her first of the season.

In other batting news, Faith Jensen was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Williams' record now sits at 4-6. As for El Capitan, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-8-1.

Williams didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 27-0 win against Mayer on the 26th. As for El Capitan, they have also already played their next game, a 12-2 victory against Pinon on the 27th.
