Basketball Recap: Atchison County Tigers vs. Atchison-Maur Hill-Mount Academy Ravens
The Atchison County Tigers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Atchison-Maur Hill-Mount Academy, falling 58-25. If Atchison County was looking for revenge after losing 38-9 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Despite the loss, Atchison County saw an underclassman step up: Madison Martin scored six points along with six rebounds and five blocks.
Atchison County has not been sharp recently as the team's lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season. As for Atchison-Maur Hill-Mount Academy, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Atchison County will take on the Cobras at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Jackson Heights focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 last Saturday. As for Atchison-Maur Hill-Mount Academy, they will stay at home for another game and welcome the Chargers on February 2nd.
