Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mayfield). They blew past the Deming Wildcats 76-27 on Saturday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Trojans also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2024.

Mayfield pushed their record up to 6-7 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.3 points per game. As for Deming, they are on a 24-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-12.

Mayfield and Deming could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps New Mexico Rankings. Mayfield (ranked 56th) will meet Roswell (ranked sixth) at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Similarly, Deming will take on Alamogordo at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday down 89 places (135 vs. 46).
