Recap: Hickory Hawks vs. Oscar Smith Tigers
If The Hickory Hawks were feeling good off their 35-0 takedown of the Lakeland Cavaliers last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Hickory was beaten by Oscar Smith 41-14 on Friday. While losing is never fun, Hickory can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia football rankings (they are ranked 216th, while Oscar Smith is ranked 36th).
Hickory's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Oscar Smith, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.
Hickory will head out on the road to face off against King's Fork at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. King's Fork is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. As for Oscar Smith, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Western Branch at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
