Baseball Game Preview: Union County Braves vs. Webster County Trojans

For the second straight game, Union County will face off against Webster County. The Braves will be playing in front of their home fans against the Trojans at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Union County's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They came out on top against Webster County by a score of 5-0. The win continues a trend for the Braves in their matchups with the Trojans: they've now won three in a row.

Not much got past Coltin Capps, who gave up just four hits and racked up seven Ks to keep Webster County off the board.

At the plate, Grayson Odaniel and Garrett Shouse did most of the damage at the plate: Odaniel scored two runs and stole three bases, while Shouse scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances. Those two runs gave Odaniel a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Tate Nobles, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI.

Webster County is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-6. As for Union County, their victory bumped their record up to 4-8.
