It may have taken  eight innings to finish the job, but Farmington ultimately got the result they hoped for  on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Illini Bluffs Tigers with a sharp  7-1 win. Considering the Farmers have won six matches by more than five  runs this season, Thursday's  blowout was nothing new.
 Lane Wheelwright was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he  tossed three innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   two  hits. Wheelwright was also big at the plate,  going 2-for-4 with four  RBI, one  run,  and one  double. Those  four  RBI gave  him a new career-high.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Landon Crawford, who  went 2-for-3 with two  runs, one  triple,  and one  double. That  triple was  his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of  Jacob Evans, who  went 1-for-4 with one  triple, one  run,  and one  RBI.
The  victory made it two in a row for Farmington and  bumps their season record up to 9-3. The  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 4  runs in those games. As for Illini Bluffs,  this is the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 4-3.
 Coming up, Farmington will square off against Astoria/VIT at 10:00  a.m.  on Saturday. The Farmers are facing the Rebels at the right time seeing as the Rebels are stuck on  an  eight-game losing streak. As for Illini Bluffs, they will be playing at home against Williamsfield  at 4:30  p.m.  on Monday.
