Baseball Recap: Basha Gets the Win

Basha won the last time they faced Highland and things went their way on Monday too. The Basha Bears came out on top against the Highland Hawks by a score of 5-2.

Zach Bolles tossed a big game, striking out 11 batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits (and only one walk). Those 11 strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

At the plate, Mason Cantu was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in hits. Clayton Cooper was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

Basha was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .423. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Highland only posted a batting average of .160.

Basha now has a winning record of 2-1-1. As for Highland, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-2.

Coming up, Basha will take on Brophy College Prep at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Highland, they will challenge Campo Verde at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.
