Baseball Recap: Iroquois Comes Up Short

Iroquois was the 5-1 winner over Pioneer when they last played one another on Tuesday, but their luck changed this time around. The Redhawks came up short against the Panthers on Wednesday, falling 7-1. The matchup marked the Redhawks' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Iroquois saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alexander Yandricha, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base. Yandricha is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last six games he's played.

Iroquois' defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 9-1 and their overall record down to 10-2. As for Pioneer, they moved to 6-6 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Iroquois will face off against rival Maryvale at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Redhawks are on a six-game streak of home wins, the Flyers a four-game streak of away wins, meaning someone's leaving a streak behind. Meanwhile, Pioneer is set to take on their familiar foe Depew at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
