Football Recap: Dynamic Duo of Ricky Howell Jr and Jax Bowles Lead East Coweta to Victory

East Coweta won the last time they faced Perry and things went their way on Friday too. The Indians took down the Panthers 48-31.

East Coweta was led to victory by Jax Bowles and Ricky Howell Jr. Bowles threw for 201 yards and four TDs, while Howell Jr rushed for 98 yards and one touchdown on only seven carries. That's the most passing yards Bowles has posted since back in October of 2024.

East Coweta didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. Chance Gilbert picked up that interception and then proceeded to rub salt in the wound by taking it back the other way for a touchdown. He got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Although Perry took the loss, they still got scores from Kam Oliver, Castor Engelbach, Bhryson Gordon, and Jamarien Green.

East Coweta's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Perry, they dropped their record down to 2-3 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.

East Coweta has already played their next matchup, a 45-21 defeat against Cambridge on the 26th. As for Perry, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 38-24 win against New Hampstead on the 26th.
