Basketball Preview: Iroquois Chiefs vs. Tonawanda Warriors
Having just played yesterday, the Iroquois Chiefs will head out on the road to face off against the Tonawanda Warriors at 6:30 p.m. on February 6th. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Back in January, it was a hard-fought matchup, but Iroquois had to settle for a 52-50 defeat against the Steelers. Iroquois has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Tonawanda, who are still winless after their fifth matchup. They were outmatched by St. Mary's on the road and fell 73-27. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Tonawanda has scored all season.
Iroquois' defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Tonawanda, their defeat was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-5.
Everything came up roses for Iroquois against the Warriors in their previous meeting back in March of 2021 as the squad secured a 94-51 win. With Iroquois ahead 47-25 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
