Atkins extends home losing streak to three

Recap: Atkins Camels vs. Ben L. Smith Golden Eagles

This season hasn't been kind to the Atkins Camels, who are still winless after their sixth game. They suffered a rough 77-53 loss at the hands of Ben L. Smith on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Atkins can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 581st, while Ben L. Smith is ranked 62nd).

Despite the loss, Atkins still got an impressive performance from Daijon Lindsay, who scored 13 points. Those 13 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Kaleb Roope, who scored eight points.

Atkins bumped their record down to 0-6 with that loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Ben L. Smith, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Atkins will be home for the holidays to greet Dudley at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Ben L. Smith will be home for the holidays to greet Rockingham County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Rockingham County is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
