Baseball Recap: Mosinee Takes a Loss

Mosinee was the 5-1 winner over Rhinelander when they last played one another back in April, but their luck changed this time around. The Indians fell just short of the Hodags by a score of 4-3 on Friday.

Zach Nechuta was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed six innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Mosinee saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sebastian Andersen, who went 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Elliot Yirkovsky was another, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run.

Mosinee's loss dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Rhinelander, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-8.

Looking ahead, Mosinee will challenge Edgar at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Rhinelander, they will head out to square off against Lakeland at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
