Softball Recap: Stone Bridge Bulldogs vs. Independence
Stone Bridge had lost four straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 0-8 to make it five. They came up short against Independence, falling 11-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Independence this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-5 on Tuesday.
As for Independence, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 11-1. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 8.4 runs.
For Independence's part, Emma Stringer spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on six hits. Stringer has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances.
