Baseball Game Preview: Grand Terrace Titans vs. Kaiser Cats

For the second straight game, Grand Terrace will face off against Kaiser. The Titans will take on the Cats at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. Grand Terrace's pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so Kaiser's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Grand Terrace lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Kaiser, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Wednesday's matchup. The Titans were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Cats on Wednesday. The Titans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by eight runs or more this season.

Ray Roybal was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.

In other batting news, Grand Terrace got a massive performance out of Conner Burns, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI and two doubles. Burns is becoming a predictor of the Titans' success: when he posts at least three hits the team is undefeated (and 6-7 when he doesn't). Ezekiel Jahen was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Grand Terrace was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .462. The last time their batting average was this high was back in March of 2024.

The win made it two in a row for Grand Terrace and bumps their season record up to 9-7. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 2 run in those games. As for Kaiser, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-6.
