Volleyball Recap: Irvington Preparatory Academy Victorious

Irvington Preparatory Academy's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Crawfordsville Athenians. That's more bragging rights for Irvington Preparatory Academy, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

While Irvington Preparatory Academy might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Crawfordsville scored at least 19 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-19, 23-25, 26-24.

Irvington Preparatory Academy found their leader in sophomore John Curry, who had 18 digs and one assist.

Irvington Preparatory Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 26 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least nine aces in seven consecutive contests.

Irvington Preparatory Academy now has a winning record of 11-10. As for Crawfordsville, they dropped their record down to 0-5 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.
